My health seems to have taken a turn for the worse this past 6 months. Nothing major (I hope) - I'm generally fit and well. But, I have ingrown toenail and major infection which needs surgery, and now it looks like I have achilles tendonitis in the other foot due to the pressure caused by walking heavier on that foot, which in turn is due to the ingrown toenail and infection!
In addition, all this problem with walking is having an effect on my general aches and pains. I'm often walking weird and placing undue stress on my back and stuff, and occassionally it can be pretty painful (if I've had a busy day). I suppose I shouldn't be complaining of 'bad health' - I could be suffering much, much worse, but it's still a pain to be just twenty and feeling like fifty!
I do, however, feel better for the excercise I do. Not that I do a tremendous amount, but it works. Lee got me a part as an extra in a film providing I can get a good physique by August! It's like, £2000 for three days work or something, so it's well worth looking into getting into real shape! At any rate, right now I feel like I'm falling apart at a slow but sure rate.
In more optimistic news, it has been a pretty productive week. Those Laverne demos are going off tomorrow to regional venues (barfly, louisiana etc.) and some small radio stations - and it even got played on Uni radio two days ago. Pretty cool.
My screenplay also got news. I needed to send another copy to the author himself, who wanted to read it! Not major news, but at least it's received some attention and hasn't been flat out rejected. Still waiting for solid news on what's happening with it next (if anything at all), but it bodes well if the author himself has gotten word of the whole project.
I hope to start getting feedback concerning gigs sometime in April. I'll probably try and wing us some gigs in the meantime (usual slot at the Riv, maybe a few support slots around and about), and I'm sure we'll be back on our feet by the end of April latest. Got the website running decent enough (going to add some more content soon), and I'll start publicising it a little once we get some samples of the demo up next week. It's not major, but it's the little things that are starting to build up the much better picture.
By next week I shall have updates of glory and fortune ahead...
In the meantime, I shall continue to curse my mythological mother for blessing me with such acute pain!
