Damn that Harry Potter. I have worked a lot recently, and because it gets so messy and nasty down there I haven't been finishing closing the place until at least 11:30pm. Then I'm usually back in sometime early afternoon to start all again. Never mind, Harry Potter should die down next week with the kids going back to school, and I have Monday, Thursday and Wednesday off anyway, so that's not too bad. I can try and use the time to get some music written.

Looks like we have practice Monday and Thursday this week, all things being well. It's nice to be getting more practice in again, and with the music I'm recording at home it feels like progress is being made on a level that it hasn't been for a while. We're still a long way off really sorting everything out, but it's been a good start for the post-Uni plan and I'm hoping progress will be better still in the coming few weeks.

Damien's friend is going to Australia to live for a while and so she gave Damien a bass! It's cool, it's only a Squier P-Bass, but I've always wanted to indulge in a bass guitar for home recording (band demos and other music) and I finally have access to a decent bass that is my own (in a way). It'll also serve as a handy backup for Joe if anything really goes wrong. I have to admit it was a pleasant suprise to find it lying there on the bed today. I can even cross it off my "list of things for home studio" list.

Now I'm turning my attention towards new software and a new computer. Well, I say a new computer, a new CPU box and Hard Drive to use a sampler for my present setup. I also need another monitor (if possible) to get the full 'studio spread'. It's just buying everything in the right order. I don't want to buy a computer and not have any software to run on it, or vice versa. I bought some books on setting up a studio from Amazon, so hopefully the advice I need will be in there.

There isn't much else to say really. Work has presented me from making any really noteworthy progress. I don't know if I mentioned we have a gig in the Barfly on the 19th June, which is cool. It's supporting a band called 'The Durangos'. I'm hoping it'll go down well, and I plan to take some demos/website adverts.
