Update
About 6 weeks ago I was informed that the company I was working for remotely was letting me go because they decided they wanted all their employees in one state. They were very apologetic about it and nice and gave me 6 weeks severance pay. :-)
I started interviewing almost the next day. About 5 1/2 weeks ago two of the companies I interviewed with made me job offers. I took the lower paying of the two, but the one that had the most potential. The higher paying job was contract and involved a 32 mile commute one way ( to Rancho Cucamonga). The second offer was full-time permanent and only a 17 mile commute one way to Culver City. The lower paying offer was still a nice 17% bump from my previous job, plus includes all insurances paid for, stock options, and vacation bonuses, with unlimited vacation days! WoOt!
I've been at new gig now 5 weeks, and having a great time. The company is growing quickly and I am already interviewing people for new positions. One of the side effects of the new job, is I am not sitting at work plugged into every social website I have an account with, including LJ.
Found out from my car salesman that the new Golf TDI I ordered last October is finally arriving in a couple of weeks. I have ordered a new personalized license to prepare for its arrival.
Anyone know of someone that wants a slightly used 2006 VW MkV GTI?
