Things have changed since the last time I was here. Five years is... a long time. A lot of people have changed. Places stay the same. The buildings are the same. Even the landscape is the same. But the people seem a lot different. Some of them, at least. I guess that's what happens ( Read more... )

Hey, they say changing your hair can be as stressful as moving house. And that's before thinking about whether or not your eyebrows match.

I think moving house is a lot less stressful than deciding on brown or blue. How do you make your eyebrows match blue anyway?

There was a period where I was doing both practically every month. I don't know how I avoided a breakdown.

Black goes with everything?

Any advice? I've been moving around a lot.

Does it go with blonde?

Try not to get attached to anything you can't carry. Places are okay though. For example, the Denny's menu is the same in every state.

...Maybe not if you're trying to blend in.

I've got a backpack with all my worldly possessions. That's pretty carryable. But don't tell me to go to Denny's if you want me to stay alive, Rose. I don't even know what their food is made of.

I was just kidding.

Hey, I've been eating at Denny's as long as I can remember. Either it's a really slow death, or I've built up a resistance.

I'm just glad you didn't go for the facial hair disguise, along with everyone else.

That's a tough call.

I don't think I'd be able to grow a mustache. I keep shaving but nothing happens.

What didn't you say so? I can do amazing things with a tan eyeliner.

...So, how unhappy're you. You know, on a scale of 1 to Mohinder?

Do you think I have the face for Mohinder-stubble?

I'm not unhappy. I'm just tired. Is that a 5 or is that a Mohinder?

I think we can't know until we've tried.

Tired seems like it's a theme, too. I guess it's been a really long five years.

I think you just want to draw on my face with eyeliner.

I haven't really been in one place for a long time. I guess that's why I'm tired. I'm sick of running, you know? I was ready to stop until something came up. I was even engaged.

For research purposes.

Was engaged, past tense? But not to somebody who could run with you.

Uh huh.

I had to leave. Something... kind of a came up. The world we live in is a lot different than the way it was five years ago, when I was here before. Nathan - the president, he told everyone about us, made people afraid of us. So we have to run. Someone caught up with me, though, that's why it's a past tense engagement.

I've heard a little bit about what happened. Does someone catching up with you mean that you're in trouble?
