[Yes, this is Claire's device, surreptitiously transmitting her preparations for tonight's valentine's ball, but the first voice heard through it is decidedly deeper and more antipodean. And impressed.]

[From somewhere across the room, there's a laugh, and then sharp heels click over the floor, Claire's voice rising in volume over the sound of her footsteps.]
Can we bend the rules just a little? Ten minutes after midnight? Then no one will have to swim back. [There's quiet, but her intention to continue is obvious.] I'll spare you the sarcasm. You look great. I mean, really.

[Claire makes a mad scramble, which jostles the device further across the floor, ending in an abrupt disconnect just as she starts dialing.]
