Superbowl was an interesting dynamic of team and self loyalty. On the morning of the Superbowl, I heard my husband talking to his friends on the phone, telling them that he can't make it to their place because we had a ton of errands to run, which was mostly true. We had a month and a half worth of laundry (I KID YOU NOT) to do and we had a few things to buy from the grocery store, not to mention the fact that he had unfinished homework for university (he went back to school for further studies). So, I chalked up this passing up of football-buddyship to his actually being responsible. Later, as I sorted our dirty clothes, he confessed to me that the only reason he didn't want to go to Barney's place (yes, our friend's name is Barney) is because Barney and the rest of our friends are from Seattle and are therefore, Seahawks fans, whereas my husband--who ISN'T actually from Pittsburg--has been rooting for the Steelers ever since football season began. He said they would pressure him to root for the Seahawks, and he didn't want to root for the Seahawks; he wanted to root for his favorite team. While I'm no big fan of this Superbowl hullabaloo, I surrender to the hype and make the most out of it. My husband's loyalty to team and self is a Superbowl moment. What a guy.
And so it happened that a cute little kitty cat happened to cross our threshold and follow me from outside the house. I didn't even notice him until my husband pointed out, "You're being followed by a cat." And so there was the kitty. Beautiful gray coat, white paws, muzzle and chest; very lovable, very affectionate. The cat has since been adopted, and I've dubbed our Superbowl Kitty as Pittsburg. Pittsburg is currently lounging on our window watching birds (at least, that's what he was doing when I left him this morning for work.)
FANFIC UPDATE:
As my readers know, I updated "Forever Knight." I was afraid people would hate it and am terribly relieved that it was well-met.
Chapter 15: Search (Part 2, Chap. 2) is FINISHED. All I have to do is send it to my beta-reader.
Chapter 16: Rediscovery (Part 2, Chap. 3) is 80% done.
