I'm so thrilled that you expanded your original drabble! A fitting choice indeed, this was just lovely.

She couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt this at ease with someone so quickly. And she certainly wouldn’t have expected it to happen now, when she was just starting to get used to her changed body.

This line really stood out to me; I think this is a sentiment that can be expressed for Laura regarding Bill regardless of the setting of any fic or universe. It's just so perfect.

Oh, yay! Love how this ends on such a hopeful note. I think they've both been "reborn."

Love the flashbacks and how accepting Bill is, and Laura's thoughts at each point.

Thanks for the kind words. I guess it would have been interesting to expand this one to include Bill's POV, too (to your point about them both being reborn). Next time, perhaps!

I fully support this idea. :D

That's kind of a working meta idea I have about them, which fits canon and this 'verse. Nothing earth-shattering, just how they both undergo evolution/rebirth at various points. And yeah, I'd love to see it in a fic.

Wonderful atmosphere you created here, touching things lightly. Admirable physical quality woven throughout pulling the reader into the story as an experience. I'm glad you decided to expand the drabble.

I really felt Laura's insecurity here. You did a fantastic job playing with that tension! I really enjoyed this.

Thanks! This insecurity is so antithetical to Laura's persona, but it was interesting to play with the idea of her as a private citizen instead of having such an overwhelming larger purpose.
