Oh hells yes. We see an example of it in a deleted scene with Gaeta and Dee. :P It's from ADITL I think, which is like, the motherload of AR UST. :P
If so, do you think Bill or Laura found out about it?
I am sure that Bill may have had an inclination, but his crew were respectful enough to keep the gossip to a minimum.
Who would tell them?Tigh for sure would tell Bill. I could see him bringing it up as they were sharing a drink, shooting the shit, or something. Tigh is very perspective; he knows that Bill loves Laura before Bill can even admit it out loud, we definitely see that during their fight in Sine Qua Non. I don't know that anyone would have brought that up to Laura. Maybe Zarek would mention it, but out of concern for an Adama/Roslin elitist government - I don't think that Zarek ever saw what was between them as love, (mainly because I doubt that he himself could understand a love that pure) and thus saw it as lust, as

If you were a member of the fleet, would you have written RPF about the President and the Admiral? Would you let others read it?
I'm trying to think of someone writing fanfic about Dutch political leaders, and I think honest to God that there is absolutely no market at all for that kind of writing.
This was the first time I've read this, I think, and just loved it to bits. Points: Do you think this kind of gossip happened in the Fleet? Or at least on Galactica/Colonial One? Probably. With two people both in public roles of power, both unattached and attractive, I think speculation would be pretty natural, with a caveat that with the Fleet having just gone through unimaginable loss of their own loved ones, people's imaginations might have been shut down/traumatized.
Once that trauma eased, though, I can see there being a need for harmless distraction.

Who would tell them?I can kind of see people in their circle and in the know discussing who would be best suited to let the cat out of the bag with the least amount of fall-out. I can also see a sincere attempt at a "You should know about this, sir/ma'am" just dissolving into an embarrassing melt

People had to KNOW after new cap! (at least our version of new cap!!!) But since this is pre-settlement, I can see some speculation going around after Her recovery!

Wow, i think in the real world if you wrote RPF for people at work, and you were found out, or found reading it (in my case) you could be labeled a pervert, stalker, creepy, or people might think we were sexual offenders. I read a few mm/EJO Fics and I kind of felt dirty LMaO! Once I looked up a fandom from a show that someone I know IRL was in (I didn't follow the show)... Didn't even have any desire (and the thought was actually kind of gross! Haha) to read it and it wasn't even RFP!
But, I guess in their situation, on a "naval" ship, post apocolyptic, without tv to keep them busy!!! Anything goes right?
haha, no I meant if you were just in the fleet. On a ship with nothing to do with Galactica or the President. If you didn't know them personally or work for them. :)
I don't agree about Billy. He was using his relationship with Dualla for intel for his boss. If he's okay with that I guess he can pass on gossip as well. Tory would probably find the producer of the fic before the second chapter was published and do something nasty.
I don't have anything deep to add. Love this story, especially the ending. And the part where Saul wants to take the chapter off by himself. LMAO. Oh and "the author should have fit in one more frak" resonated with me as a writer. How much frakking strains credulity, especially for canon-aged Bill (as opposed to earlier-set AU)? (The corollary to this being Hot Dog's "but he's THE MAN" argument.)
