The Unexpected
the day started early yesterday, as usual. woke up at 6 to the sound of my pager. got out of my bed, turned on the lights, and walked over to the aircon to turn it off. went back in bed to try to wake my sleepy head up for around 10 minutes (or was it 15? hmm.)
when i finally got out of bed, i took my towel out of the rack and got out into the living room. the air outside was warm and dry, as it has always been at that time of the morning. i turned the living room lights on and headed for the kitchen.
i opened the refrigerator door and looked inside, wondering whether i would eat something or not. there are a lot of stuff in the ref. however, the only thing i wanted at that point was a glass of soya milk. i lazily got the soya milk out of the ref and gulped it up. threw the empty carton into the bin, which was over at the other side of the kitchen, just near to the door of the laundry.
no bread this morning. cereals are on the kitchen table but i was too lazy to prepare a bowl for myself.
went to the toilet and did my business. the clock was still ticking in front of me across the room and it was urging me to go on and finish my business. it's getting late.
went into the shower in the other room. brushed my teeth and gargled with listerine. i held the mouthwash in my mouth until i finished showering.
sunsilk shampoo. creamsilk conditioner. neutrogena facial wash. dove liquid soap. rinse.
quickly towelled myself dry and spit out the mouthwash.
walked naked towards my room and reached for something to wear in the closet. it dawned upon me that i haven't ironed any shirt for yesterday at that point so i quickly got one and ironed it in the living room, still in the buff.
walked back into my room and got a pair of briefs, socks, and hanky. took my black pants off the door hanger and put them on. fixed myself in front of the mirror. chose the out of bed clay to set my hair. sprayed dolce & gabbana light blue all over. pocketed my keys, wallet, and cellphone. turned the lights off and headed out.
took me maybe 5 minutes to get a cab and another 10 minutes to get to work.
walked to the wards and started the rounds. the long day was beginning.
a message from a new friend came asking whether we were still meeting that night. i said yes. well, there's something i could look forward to.
the day went by. ended scopes around 6 and ended rounds around 630. then it was back to my crib after that.
8 pm, after another shower, i left my place. took the train all the way down to the eastern side of the island.
met up with my friend. bought some important stuff. took a bus to his place.
few more friends turn up and we watched desperate housewives. some creature feature movie after that.
slept until morning and another day started.
and now, i'm here. still sleepy.
hope it's already tomorrow.
