Happy new year. Let us pray that Bush doesnt fuck this year up. (hell, lets just hope he chokes on another pretzel and dies, k?)
I dont want to go back to school monday. Hell, idont want to work tomorrow. 9:45-4:45, then on the 8th, 8-1. five hours, not bad.
I love the Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. So fun. So immersive. So addicting.
You choose your character. You choose between races, classes, skills etc. Then you choose your face and hair, though limited in options.
dark Elves, wood elves, high elves, orcs, khajiits (cats), argonians (lizards, Bretons (monks) Imperials (law enforcers), redguard (black people) and Nords (barbarians/Swedish) Those are your choices. Yup. Nice lil array o' culture.
Skills range from simple Longsword and Archery, to lockpicking and healing. The armor and clothing line is vast. At LEAST 25+ armors of different classes (light, medium and heavy) and regular ole clothing. (pants, shoes, etc)
Now. the battle system took me time tog et used to. You choose between First Person perspective, or you can choose Third Person, and see your cute lil character kill innocent bystanders.
Yup, you can kill NPCs. Not only the evil ones who want to kill you, but the people you talk to and buy from. But, youg et a bounty placed on your head for everything bad you do. This includes stealing, lockpicking, or sleeping in someones bed. Yup. you sleep.
Two expansions; Tribunal and Bloodmoon add to the already huge land, weapons, people, and armor. In tribunal, you go OFF the island, and go to a HUGE capital city of Mournhold, where you can meet the King, and hunt down assasins. In Bloodmoon, you go to the island of Solsteim. The frozen tundra. And you can become a werewolf. And a vampire.
Thousands and thousands of side quests, guilds to join, leveling up, and the Main Quest compile this game. But, out of all this, how can you even remember the Main Quest? I have BARELY scratched that surface. I have played for a good 200+ hours, and im not even close to half way done with the game.
and, later this year, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is coming out!! Same type of game, but medieval. Ypu can ride on horseback, torture people,. buy a house, choose what you look like. You know Half Life 2s graphics? Oblivions is way more vast. Hell, what other game has the NPCs on random schedules, or has the combat decide by what you see on screen? if you see the weapon hit, you hit them. Miss, then well, you missed.
