Another short story

Hmm, I shouldn't have written this. I should have been writing an essay. I don't understand this inspiration that seems only to strike when other matters are so much more pressing than fanfiction.

I'm still waiting for any inspiration to write essays to strike whenever I read any poetry. I suspect I may need to wait a long time for that.

I'm not really trying to sell Hisana as a ghost. I went with the image of her being one since I found it appealing. Not sure how well it worked, but I wrote the story with another interpretation in mind, with Hisana's ghost as a metaphor for memories of Hisana that linger inside her friends, family, and the various places she had been to and objects she had touched.

Anyway, yes, Kubo has yet to kill Shinigami (not including flashbacks). I'm fairly confident he will eventually, though. After all, Ukitake has coughed up blood and coughing up blood is the most certain foreshadowing of death that I can think of. Personally, I like the idea of yet another afterlife, a heaven for Shinigami, existing; one that the Shinigami cannot comprehend. It seems a difficult task to trace the cycles of death and rebirth over millenia after millenia, and I can imagine souls vanishing or getting lost in the infinite eons of time.

The moonflowers...I wrote this after reading Sparty's comic, but her comic isn't related to it (it's not a reference or illusion). I actually forgot that Byakuya went to the moon for flowers. I chose moonflowers for more practical reasons: they blossom at night, and I wanted flowers to match my scene under the moonlight.

Thanks for the praise for the thought and the comment!
