And a day late, here I am, woah no. I was nearly ready to post this at around two in the morning last night when I thought it would be better to rest.

It's nice how you weaved in recent developments in the manga... I believe when I beta-ed that Shinji chapter hadn't come out yet.

Now that I think about it, its hard for me to imagine the circumstances of Shinji ever really losing out to Chad, but since this is post-Winter War I guess every possibility is fair game. Maybe Shinji became less powerful over time, while Chad become way stronger? Hmm.

And it's ironic that Karin says she doesn't want to hang out with lunatics who want to kill her... so she's okay with hanging out with lunatics who will kill other people instead? XD

Hmmm, it's more like it's nice how Kubo wrote his recent chapters in line with how I wrote this scene. Although Shinji wasn't initially in this story, I'd always envisioned all the Vizards as dead (so I wouldn't need to take them into account, of course). Shinji, though, got a temporary reprieve long before the recent developments in the manga. But, yes, nice of Kubo. Although he still ruined my Unohana and Yammy fight, curse him for making Ichigo likeable again instead.

As for these circumstances that you cannot imagine, that's something I considerable to be a flaw in the manga; although they're inconsistent as anything, Kubo has written clear divisions of strength. And I don't like that. It's more fun when a loser (not that Chad is a loser, in my opinion) can beat a powerful opponent.

That said, Chad becomes many times stronger in my fic. First of all, he does gain the ability to transform his legs (off screen), which gave him a massive speed boost. And when he learned how to use his powers without morphing his limbs, that added a ( ... )

In the context of this fic (being Karin-centric and all), there's not a whole lot of space to explain Chad's power-ups, which I understand. Looking at all the thought and work you put into thinking about this, though, could make for a really, really good side story for this.

Ha, I have one idea for a semi-connected side story, but I think I'll pass on a Chad side story. This whole story began as a Chad-centric fic well over a year ago (which I actually completed) and I didn't like how it turned out. That's why I overhauled basically everything and why this story is the one I've posted (it's much better, trust me).
