Another Friday, so another installment. I'm also working on other stuff, and those will be uploaded whenever completed.

Title: Long Way to Goodbye IV
Rating: The much beloved T, where characters may swear and possess sexuality, but not so much that I will be banned for posting this.
Summary: Rukia and Ichigo disappeared and, although she tries, Karin ( Read more... )

Poor Karin - I really hope when she finds her answers it's more comforting than knowing Kon!Ichigo isn't Ichigo.

Shifting the focus from junior detective matters to her average RL problems was a good choice, since it slowed the pace a little from the excitement of the last chapter. And it keeps the story central to her.

It really does feel like her story. The pray-introspective was really fitting and congrats on writing a believable 13-year old girl. :3

I'm dying with questions and it's melting my face off

Oh look! A dead body! Bonus! The plot thickens. (lol @ Renji/ Ishida squabbles)

Poor Karin, indeed, since she had to encounter what I learned after reading the Half-Blood Prince. You see, I used to obsess about some questions in Harry Potter, and I was convinced that JKR intended Harry x Ginny and, man, those Harry x Hermione people were stupid. So I read the sixth book and, lo and behold, to my joy it turned out I was right! Only, I later realized that, hey, I was happy because I, me, myself, was right, not because of the pairing. When I thought about it, I decided that JKR executed it poorly and I was not so happy. Oh well. I think the last two novels have other strengths, but I've really gotten away from Karin now ( ... )

I'll second what Liz said about the pacing. It's a great shift in focus, and I think it does work.

Poor Yuzu and Karin at the end. :( I figured from your comment in the last chapter they might get into a row, and I don't think it's entirely out of character for Karin to be a bit too blunt. I get the sense Yuzu knows something is off, but probably doesn't want to accept it. Certainly, she knows Ichigo and Karin especially better than to make up something like that. I'm sure you won't give me any hints on the matter, either. ;)

And poor Renji, too. I can guess Rukia's disappearance fucked him up something bad.

Great chapter as always.

PS: Word about Harry/Ginny. By process of elimination, it seems kind of obvious they'd hook up, but the way it developed was pretty lame indeed.

Honestly, I'm more worried about the pacing in other chapters when things get...intense. Hopefully, the only problem for you readers will be waiting to see what happens next ( ... )
