I have deleted a considerable number of people from my Friends list. Mostly those whose journals have fallen into disuse. Or abject mundanity

If I added you to my Flist, it will be because you seemed interesting. If, after a few weeks, you find yourself deleted this will be because I was mistaken or because you did not extend the courtesy of a return Add. A guest who declines to extend a return invitation should not complain when they find themselves excluded.
I don't know if you realize how arrogant your profile blurb sounds. It's rather bad manners to demand such things of people you don't know. I'm assuming you didn't realize that.
Had you looked further, you would have noticed that my LJ is mostly friends' locked, but that I request a person do me the courtesy of leaving a note if he or she wants an add. In light of your blurb, I decided I'm sufficiently old and obnoxious to go out of my way to be uninteresting. It's as if you were indulging in reverse psychology and I fell victim. Oh well.
In any case, since you added me silently, I took the liberty of looking at your profile. We don't actually have that much in common and we have no friends in common, so I didn't think we'd have much to talk about. You're a year younger than my oldest child, and that whole Mom-thing might put damper on any relationship as well. To be honest, though, my journal has been heavily filtered of late and I really only write to a few people I've known for many years. I don't think we'd be a good fit.
I just thought I'd let you know how that snippet your writing might be perceived by others, how it doesn't necessarily represent your character in a positive light. You might want to revise it, or rethink your policy. Or not. Obviously, it's up to you.
