I know I have been neglecting LJ terrible, but my second semester has turned out to be a very big and stressing ordeal. I still love studying history but these past months has been crazy. Some of my exams are coming up in a little while, so I fear I'll still be neglecting all the wonderful people here for a while.
To make little amends for this I give you a poem (written on the train home as usual)
Madness hovers near
Lurking in the shadows
Whispering my name
A slow beckoning whisper
Sometimes soft, sometimes sharpened
Words that cut and words that soothe me
My ever-following companion
Where I go, He goes too
A permanent fixture
Like your shadow on a summer's day
And I try to appear unsuspecting
For I know madness hovers near
When I look at my face in the water
I can sense your reflection there too
And the ripples across the surface
Blend our eyes into one
You're like the devil
Perched on the shoulder
Pointing out which rules to break
But you're also an angel who murmurs
What I did wrong when I chose
To ignore all the signs of remorse
And I try to appear unsuspecting
Since I know madness is always near
Sometimes I think I control you
Sometimes I know that I don't
The borders are ever-changing
Though direction and course stay the same
