My favorite holiday is Halloween. I'm not a big decorator of my house, and am not really great at making costumes, but I still love it. Luckily most of the people in the clinic are also into dressing up, so we do some fun group costumes. This year we're being the 'spice' girls. I'm curry. And they're going to decorate the clinic with kitchen stuff.
(It can be a little hard because everything has to be kid friendly-nothing scary).
My second favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because food. :)
TVs: Halloween Wars, Halloween Baking Championship, Outrageous Pumpkins. lol (I need to get a new DVR so I can record them).
Netflix: Watched Office Invasion today. 4.5/5. Funny polemic about how corporations treat their employees, but then aliens. I swear it's worth it.
Also, Nailed It:Halloween dropped on Friday.
Took Zolar to the vet Saturday (best time for me in the next week) for lameness. Right after I got there an emergency came in. Surgical emergency. So, I left Zolar there and went to eat lunch. Came back, waited some more. It was sad, though, because the kids that brought the horse in were all so worried and upset. I hope their horse survives. It did make it through the surgery. (I prayed for them, poor kids)
Zolar passed the lameness exam for the most part, but C(the vet) injected his hocks anyway (K and I were worried about him not sitting back enough+his age+some head bobbing at times was due to that). C has been concerned about his back muscling before (not enough of it), and this time he lasered his back and wants to do a med that will help with that.
My mom called while they were lasering Zolar. Apparently she went to the ED the night before because she had one too many glasses of wine (she's okay). Also, there is a small herd of deer in the backyard eating the apples(?) that have fallen and not been picked up. The drunk deer scare my mom, so she is taking their garbage in the car around the street to the alley where the garbage can is. lol
Drunk mom, drunk deer, drunk horse (they drug them when they inject joints).
I am doing a sleep experiment the last week. Generally, I stay up a bit too late reading, and by the time I get to Friday I'm really tired, and take an hour nap each weekend day if I can. The last week I have stopped reading right at 9:30 to get in bed by ~10.
No naps this weekend, but I did watch some bad TV while laying on the couch for an hour or two. But, this morning at church my brain was not in gear. I was part of the Psalm duo, and when M asked me to sing my first line a cappella so he could walk into the seating and listen I just couldn't think of my note. This happened TWICE, even with him giving me the note previously. The third time he played two measures before without me asking, so I could get it, but dang. It was a bit different than usual because I was singing the first note an octave up, which could have been part of it. I jut felt like an idiot.
When I'm tired I don't have/remember my dreams as much. This week they were very vivid-I don't remember them, but they are often weird/somewhat disturbing. I think that cuts down on my sleep, but I don't know. I kind of want to go back the other way just to cut down on the dreams. (I have a big imagination anyway, but atenolol that I have to take makes them so much more.)
I'll give it one more week. Probably.
Oh, skipped the opera Saturday night. Surprise! /not. But spending 5 hours at the vet, hooking then unhooking the trailer, and being cold and wet was not fun. I just wanted to stay in, read, and chill. I was looking forward to it previously, because it's a comedy, but I just noped out. (also, I heard it was really long, and even the friend that ribbed me for not going said they left at the first intermission, so there).
