I love watching these shows, even when they show the animals not doing well. It's very interesting, and beautiful animals to watch. Also, one of them in Australia, so there's the cool accent.

However, how do you know the episode they're playing that's advertised as new is, in fact, a rerun? (besides it being familiar) No one is wearing masks. ( Read more... )

It'll be weird in a few years to look back at old episodes of reality TV and news shows and see which ones were "pandemic era" due to masks and everyone being all spread out.

We have been spotting which are new programmes and which are older ones in the same way - masks, the perspex screens between each team member in quiz show, spaced seating to keep people 2m apart and so on.

So we were delighted when we realised that Michael Portillo was wearing a mask in the opening scene of Mondays Railway Journeys as it meant a new series :)

And men who grew beards over lockdown are useful too - "Ah Richard Osman is clean-shaven - must be a repeat..."

Quick check against IMDB's episode listing? That's at least my go-to method when I wonder.

That might help. Although I swear there's more info, and some places I haven't seen on some of the Mysteries of the Abandoned. OTOH, could be my inattention in general. lol Oooh, new show! lol
