So, I live in the Texas Panhandle, which is the plains. Not many trees, minimal hills, an occasional giant crack in the ground (canyon) means that we get a lot of wind. Fortunately, unlike an unfortunate city to our south, most of the time it's not dusty.
But OMG yesterday was nuts. Front coming in? Check. Wind from hell? Check. Freezing your patooties off with the combo of temp and wind? Check. But I got home, and there was crap everywhere. Almost literally. My garage faces west, and had maybe 1/8 of an inch dirt/crap on the floor. My backyard, which faces north, is *covered* with dirt. The sidewalk to the gate is under up to 2 inches of dirt. W.T.F?
Now I see how buildings can get covered so quickly. I used to think that was crap, but dang.
Why did I say dirt and crap? Well, because all the loose dirt, shavings, and horse poop from the stall runs, the barnyard, and the manure pile is in mu backyard. The dogs are happy because, you know, horse poop.
I wonder if part of it is because the little barn between the house and manure pile is down, but it's been gone for several months, and this hasn't happened before. Hopefully it's just a one off.
I took some okay pictures last night. The second one is where I scraped some dirt aside to prove that was the sidewalk.
