Has anyone else watched Another Life? And other things

First, I was watching a trailer for Ad Astra-some space movie with Brad Pitt, and there was this brief view of a rocket that was possibly landing upright rather than taking off. My thought was 'are they using the advances in technology we have in this movie?' And then it hit me that we have technological advances that put us into space in not too far off!!! OMFG. What would Rodenberry think, oh he of the technological prescience.

So, Another Life on Netflix. Anyone else see it? I don't think I've been so happy with a show since SGA. Of the whole series there was only a part of one episode that I thought was truly stupid. Of course, they did put a lot of younger people on the ship, and there are some stupid things done and said, but over all, I'm looking for a lot more, and wondering about things they've brought up.

Now, I don't really have a ship-except the Salvare!-but I would love to read fan fiction about certain things.
Maybe it's because there's a lot of world building, and new species?
The ship is very cool, and seems to incorporate at least some of what we currently think would make a good starship.
Also, FTL! hee! BSG FTW. Although the Salvare does not look like Galactica.
(I shouldn't have read anything on IMDB because once again, it looks like I'm one of the few people to like a show :(.
Did anyone else see how cut Katee was?? Damn, if that's how you come out of soma, then I'm in.
Oh, and I thought the AI was familiar. He's been in Doctor Who. (such a surprise, him being a British actor, and all lol)
I also recognized a woman doctor in one of the later episodes. Funny enough, she might have been a doctor that time, too.

tv, movies, scifi
