A new week. Also, snake!

*I wasn't supposed to be free this weekend because I was supposed to be on call. But one of the group wanted to swap, so no I'm on call next weekend. Then that made it so that I could go to the dressage show that was supposed to be today. Then that got canceled for too few entries. lol Oh man.
So I was considering skipping church since I wasn't *supposed* to go. lol But I woke up in time to go, so I did. :D

*Rode Tess tonight instead of ground driving. She was unsure. I was unsure. lol She was hanging on to the bit for dear life. I kept her at a walk and did a lot of circles and serpentines. Did a little shoulder in - did not make her happy.
She really only tried to spook once, and it was a teeny baby one. Good girl.
I think what this is telling me is that I really need to send her somewhere else to train to drive. I really do not have the patience for it, and it turns out to be a fight.

*No riding Saturday night. I took the whole day as a mental health day - no thinking of work, no stress, no obligations. Nice nap. Also, it rained for three hours - apparently somehow I've moved back to Oregon - with nasty wind gusts, really heavy squalls, thunder and lightning - definitely still in Texas.
Not sure how much rain we got, but puddles everywhere.

*Friday worked with Zolar on some of the tests. Learned I *really* need to work on transitions. Not just between gaits, but between movements. Need to keep my body in control, but supple.

*Definitely have my Thursdays back. Used it to start cleaning up the barnyard. Got one wheelbarrow load to the dumpster. Many to go. But it already looks much nicer.

*Rode Rex Wednesday night. Again in the western saddle. BUT, I finally found the lollipop pad I need for the dressage saddle for him. When I was putting the saddle back tonight after riding Tess (different one than I use with Zolar), I found it stuffed between the saddle stand and the wall. Yay! (also used Rex's bridle tonight on Tess. Hope he doesn't mind. ;)

*Tuesday in out lesson we worked on the two tests I was going to do in the show. K said we did a good job, but it felt kind of like my body was out of control at times. Funny how keeping in control on circles at a clinic is easier than during a test. lol

*Oh, Monday was my first meeting as FASO president. We went a little over time, but I think it was good. And I got some positive feedback. Yay :)

*Tonight as I was walking through the yard to take some barn trash to the dumpster I suddenly screamed and jumped. Because there was a snake on the sidewalk!!! The dogs thought it was hilarious and fun. Bad dogs, laughing at me. Okay, it was a little garden snake, but yikes!!

I still took the time to reel up the hose and put it away, but I kept my eye on the snake the whole time. Didn't want it to reneg on our deal. It went right, and I went straight, and we'd both be good. The pact held. And now I'm hoping I don't see it again. lol
