I always think about things to post, but in the evening, when I tend to do it, I'm too tired, or too wrapped up in a fic, or something. Maybe if I post during the day, while at work? Maybe.
Rex, my old guy, has Cushing's disease. One thing that this causes is a long thick coat. I was worried for a while because he didn't shed when the other two started, but the vet checked his blood, and it was okay.
Well, he did finally start shedding about a month ago-slowly. But the last week, there are parts coming out in chunks. O.M.G, it is so satisfying to curry that out. It's better if I get a good place, and can just pull out a big chunk with my fingers. eeee! This drives him nuts, poor guy. Last week I groomed him for 40 minutes. Two days ago I attacked him in his stall. He tried to nicely get away, but I FOLLOWED! muaaaa hahahhaha
Today after riding him I had to force myself to not keep picking at him. lol
He used to only do that near his withers, where he would get some fungus in the spring-easily taken care of with witch hazel. This is definitely different because there's no scaling, and there is nice short hair underneath. (still a few long hairs, but I don't think those will go away)
Poor patient cranky horsie.
