So, I've decided to do
this.I've been thinking the last few years about learning more about Christianity, especially from the POV of the episcopal church. Since I took the inquirer's class in 2010, I've really felt comfortable and close to it. Especially since I found out our history starts in Britain with clans. Our rectors put historical relevance to the readings, and sometimes make us feel like we were there. It's very cool. And inclusive. And homey.
I'm a little worried because it takes a lot of time. It's a total of four years, meeting Sept-May once a week for 3 hours. Plus a lot of readings. And I already have choir the day before (assuming they have enough people for a Thursday meeting) for about 2 hours. You can take breaks in between the years-a lot of people do.
The worry is that my schedule will be screwed. (yes, I'm a dork) The last 11 months I've been doing shoulder work, biking, then riding (now) certain days of the week. I feel pretty good, my shoulder doesn't hurt as much, and my back doesn't feel like it's going to give out just for fun. And now my horse is getting some muscle from riding, as well.
I was thinking I could take a weight to work and do some shoulder stuff there.
Why yes, I am obsessive, why do you ask? Did I mention I have OCD? lol
Also a little concerned about keeping up with the readings considering it's during the winter, and that's prime sick kid time. Less fanfic reading. :( Er, um, yeah, I'll deal with it.
Could have do it online, but I finally decided it would be good to be a little more sociable and meet more people. Also would probably motivate me more to get things done. And, I tend to like discussions about stuff (comes from college, where it was strongly encouraged).
It's cool, though. The first year is Old Testament. Second is New. Third is history. And fourth is philosophy. My choir friend who's taken it says the 4th is the hardest-to pack it all in.
So, supposed to start in September some time. Wish me luck. Will probably be posting about it randomly. Or not. I do have a history of not posting very frequently. Sorry.
