If they only new

How does that saying go about being promoted just beyond your capabilities? Today I became the editor of our small town paper. It's not much more than a newsletter really, with an all volunteer staff. I once loved writing my column. Then I became assistant editor and had to spend a lot of time doing things I didn't really like, such as talk with people face to face, but I did get to write more so it was a good trade off - a bigger word count versus the chore of interacting with something besides my keyboard. Now I won't have time for a column, I'll be doing the lay-out, and spending the rest of the time hassling other writers to get their stories in on deadline.

I write a lot of different things, some of it I even get paid for, but this little paper is what people sort of know me by in the community.

If they only knew my secret life as a slasher;-)
