Anyone else?

I'm getting this message lately when trying to connect to either Twitter and Tumblr:

"Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections."

Anyone else, and do you know what it means? Going to try Chrome.

It's possible that you've picked up a virus that has tried to alter your internet settings. There was one going around a few years ago, so there may be a modern version too. If you've not already done so, go to Tools > Options > Network, then click where it says "Settings" to configure how Firefox connects to the internet. Ideally it should be set to no proxy. Alternatively, since Firefox had an update a couple of days ago, that may have triggered some issue somewhere. Check your proxy settings first though to be sure.

Thanks. I checked that I'm set to no proxy, good there. I run Ubuntu, and now that you mention it, there was a Mozilla update a couple days ago when I noticed the problem start. I won't be surprised when another update arrives from Ubuntu soon.

Ah, right. I don't know a lot about Ubuntu, but it certainly seems possible that there's been a conflict. I hope you get your update soon!
