The bullpen was relatively quiet - not empty, but there were only a few bodies about. It was Saturday and none of them really wanted to be there. David was one of the unlucky ones, having just had to arrest a Narcotics officer for accepting bribes among other activities. He tossed his phone on his desk the moment he reached and then dropped himself into the chair.

"Mama-Mama," Tommy said softly, patting Connie's arm and looking in David's direction, recognizing him.

"Smart, kiddo," Connie grinned, heading in David's direction. "Can you say "hi David, give my mom all of your files?"

"Hiiii, Mama," is what Tommy said, but in David's direction.

He took David a second or two for that to sink in. Had he heard that? How young were the people that worked on Saturdays? He looked up and then over toward Tommy, a smile forming when he saw the kid. "Yo." He waved to them as a way of greeting.

Tommy giggled, waving. "Yoooo."

David chuckled at Tommy. "Yeah, yo!"

"I'm working on a Saturday... it's going good! How are you two doing?"

"It's my birthday and I'm working on a Saturday," Connie said. "And he's getting shipped off to the grandparents' for the rest of the weekend because we have so much trial prep to do."

"It's *your* birthday." He snaps his fingers together and nods his head. "Happy Birthday... Oh." He gave her a sad face because she's working.

"Poor guy." He said, referring to Tommy getting shipped away.

"Yup," Connie nodded. She gave Tommy a jiggle. "It's okay, he's spoiled when he goes to his grandparents'."

"No special birthday plans? Just trial prep?" He asked.

David waved at Tommy. "Of course he does." He grinned.

"Michael and my parents are having a little get-together for me, once the trial's over," Connie said. "I got the cutest birthday phone call earlier. A giggly little girl sang me happy birthday."

"I know a giggly little girl... Wouldn't happen to be the same one, would it?" David asked. It figures the kid would remember whose birthday it was.

He paused before laughing at that. "Poor kid, she really believes that's what happened."

"I tried to explain that, you know," he coughed, "the baby wasn't eaten, but that I put it there... But that lead to awkward that I didn't want."

"What ever happened to the stork?" Connie snickered.
Tommy giggled, because his mom was amused.
