The Emerson trial ended favorably, or at the least, we got a conviction. That family certainly won't be the same again. I could use a drink. Anyone up for drinks?
Cole Hayes came to see me yesterday about a personal legal matter, specifically potential custody problems with his son. I told him I'd look over whatever papers his ex-wife ends up bringing him. He seemed worried. I would be too, but then again, I've been trained to have my back covered legally, so I probably would have taken care of it from the beginning of the divorce. Aside from the ridiculous amount of money they're making, I don't understand why someone would want to be a divorce lawyer. I doubt there are ever any truly amicable splits. Even in this case, where Cole said the split was meant to be as painless as possible, nothing like that truly ever is. For his sake and his son's, I hope it all works out.
Ileana's still not really answering my phone calls. I'm kind of worried about her. She split with Rob, got the promotion, is still dealing with Uncle Leo dying...It's a lot at once, but I know her and I know she won't stop until she's thoroughly burnt herself out. Maybe I should tell our mom to talk to her...
