Well, yesterday we were on the verge of losing.

Today we lost.

That is, the bastard wasn't acquitted, but the judge threw out the case on a technicality. One little legal loophole and a killer goes free.

For some reason he didn't look terribly daunted when I said the words 'appeal' and 'refile'.

Maybe he's seen our caseload.

That's tempting -- even if it was just to look after my car. I don't think my stomach could cope with such a drive. As long as my car comes back in one piece, I'm good with you borrowing it, absolutely.
