Back to work. Fun times. I stopped by the 2-7 and saw Nina, Joe, Falco and the new girl, McCarthy. It was good to catch up with everyone. Oh, and I picked up my Halloween costume. I don't care what Brian says. I work it just fine...er, not like that. And if he knows what's good for him he'll keep quiet. Or risk getting his ass kicked.
I also stopped by to see Brian. He didn't look like he was doing that great... Megan didn't look that good when I saw her last Friday, either. I tried talking with Brian, although I don't know if it did any good.
Ileana and Rob broke up in Vegas. She stayed with us the last day of the trip. I can't say I was surprised -- they're both alike.
Danny and I went to the ballet at the end of last week. It was...good. The ballet was relaxing for a change and it was nice that he was willing to go, even though it's not really his thing. I enjoy spending time with him. Talking with him always makes me feel better and he's just...calm. I keep telling myself not to expect too much or to invest too much...the other night, what he said about not being ready to talk about what I asked him--that was for the best. It made me remember that the pace we're going at is good, that we shouldn't rush it...and that I should also be careful. I couldn't help but think of Jonathan...and all the things I'd told him that I wished later I hadn't. I know Danny doesn't appear to be anything like Jonathan...but...still.
I'm really excited about being back at Homicide. Vacation time is over and I'm ready for our next court case, even if it's Fielding who's my direct boss and not Jack.
