Brian looked over the top of his book as Aidan curled up against him in his sleep. He knew that he should probably move the toddler to his own bed, but he looked incredibly content and Brian really didn't have the heart to disturb him.
It was funny he'd never really planned on becoming a father (his own father hadn't been the best role model in that department) and now Aidan was the center of his life. Everything else in his life was pretty much chaos. That was the way things had always been. Before Aidan came along work in an odd way had been his center. Girls, gambling, and alcohol had always swirled around him, but work was the constant. Now that Aidan was around he had a hard time letting work go into the background (especially with his current position), but on nights when it was just the two of them work was finally in the background. He just wished that these quiet moments would last longer and keep the chaos away.
