Summary: Post TV-series (no OAVs).  Rowen returns home only to find that he's not the person he used to be.  The war changed him, and he isn't sure who he is, or how to return to his old life.

Very poignant story. I never really gave any thought to what it would be like for the boys when they returned home after the battle (in my own happy little verse they'll always be living together ;)), but I think this is exactly what it would be like for Rowen.

His phone call with Sage was heartbreaking, as was his attempt to reconnect with his father.

Beautiful, beautiful story. I hope you'll write more RW fics!

I'm glad to hear opinions on this story because I feel like I finally got the characterization down here. Rowen's always been a favorite of mine, but I've had trouble writing him. I do have some other RW fics in the works, so hopefully those will go up soon.

So, wow, this is weird. I just stumbled upon this story and was so happy I'd found a RW fic I hadn't read yet, when, after reading it and scrolling down to the comments, I find a comment I left over three years ago! Huh? I have absolutely no memory of ever having read this story and leaving a review... LOL!

Anyway, even though I'd apparently already read and reviewed it, I just wanted to tell you (again) what a beautiful story I think this is. You got the characterization down perfectly.

I do kinda wish it had a happier ending with the guys showing up and taking Rowen away so they could always be together, but your ending is probably more realistic ;o)
