1. The initiative by Islamic Relief, a government-backed organisation, is an attempt to “break down barriers” and portray Islam in a positive light.
Islamic Relief has paid for hundreds of buses in London, Manchester, Leicester, Birmingham and Bradford to carry advertisements with the strapline “Subhan Allah”.
2. A Labour Party MP has been revealed as proposing a Labour Government could make an historical apology for the creation of the modern State of Israel in 1948.
According to the Mail on Sunday, Ealing MP Rupa Huq made the comments last year at a meeting of the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign, saying that the apology was something that a Labour Government “could probably get that through”.
Just last Wednesday former Labour Mayor of London Ken Livingstone called the creation of Israel “fundamentally wrong,” and “a great catastrophe.”
3. A range of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) television departments, programmes, and radio stations are currently offering highly desirable, paid internships, but white people are prohibited from applying.Creative Access - an organisation, registered as a charity, which offers placements at “many of the UK’s top media organisations” - has listed a number of BBC placements on its website, demanding applicants are only from “Black, Asian and non-white minority ethnic backgrounds”.
