i'm watching/living in the twilight zone right now
last night
before 2007 even came
my friend matt valenza was hit by a car
while running across peninsula blvd
the following 3 hours had just been a blur
i found myself in dunkin donuts, hysterically crying with a group of skaters
then in a car with 3 people i barely knew
and then at the diner with everyone
our denial faded in the parking lot
replaced with hysterical screams and cries
not until i was on colettes doorstep did i realize that it had been cold out
(i wasnt even wearing a jacket, and it was raining evidently)
the entire world stopped
never has anyone died so close and suddenly like that
even if i've known him for only a few weeks
it was the most i'd ever cried in my life
