(They aren't going to do anything?)
[Goede stopped backing away, though he was nearly hiding behind the World Tree at this point. He regarded the humans suspiciously, trying to read their expressions... All of a sudden he just felt very, very tired. Confusion, fear, rage, confusion, terror, more rage, urgency, several other emotions he didn't know... He had never... felt this much before. Urgh, now his head was pounding again... he needed to leave. Now.]
I...
[What should he say? He didn't know... he didn't understand... he just...
With a final look at the humans, Goede stepped into the shadows and disappeared.]

[Kratos observed the spot where Goede had last been seen with emotionless eyes. Finally he sighed silently and turned his attention back to Jay.]
...
Indeed.
Yuan left claiming the need to investigate a matter further. I can only imagine that it is related to Martel... and the current situation with this world's Tree.
Re: {Tired of the squishing}iknowjjAugust 20 2009, 00:07:55 UTC
...I see. I suppose it would be a good idea to explore other areas of this world. I've been curious about Ouin myself, but I don't feel safe leaving Blessenwood just yet, especially with that demon on the loose. So I'll accompany Colonel Jade when he decides to return to Ouin.
[Jay pondered for a moment. So far, Kratos seemed to be like Yuan, with his commanding attitude...not to mention the wings. Jay found curiosity getting the better of him again.]
Kratos...if you don't mind my asking...what are you? I mean...the wings?
Kratos is not amused.solemnity_cruxAugust 20 2009, 03:19:42 UTC
You will find the state of the rest of the world much as it is within Blessenwood. A place like Ouin seeks technological advancement and progress, whereas Blessenwood clings to tradition. Such differences in values are one of only a few factors that set this world's cities apart from one another.
[Kratos didn't much see why it mattered, and it annoyed him just a little. He was not opposed to revealing who and what he was, but he saw no reason why he should have to.]
Re: Kratos is not amused.iknowjjAugust 20 2009, 12:29:24 UTC
That may be true...but we may find clues in other parts of the world as to why the mana is declining here. Our leads around Blessenwood are few and far between. That is why Yuan left, isn't it?
[Jay panned his eyes away when asked why he wished to know about the wings.]
Just...curious, I suppose. When I first saw those wings on Yuan, I was...quite surprised, to say the least. And I've been told that he's been alive for...a very long time. So I was just wondering what sort of being could possess the wings and longevity like that. But there's no need to worry if it bothers you that much.
(I'll find out one way or another...)
But getting back to the matter at hand...what was Goede doing here in the first place? I arrived rather late, and I just jumped into the battle without really knowing what was happening.
Re: Kratos is not amused.solemnity_cruxAugust 21 2009, 21:58:13 UTC
Hn. Indeed.
[Kratos was not exactly in the mood to explain everything clearly. Cruxis had been abolished, and in his own universe he had taken it upon himself to steer Derris-Kharlan as far away from the reunited worlds as possible so that it would never again pose a threat to Lloyd and the others. When this was all over, he supposed he would be returning to Welgaia and his life of solitude. It was not exactly something he looked forward to, but he had been shackled to the past for this long, and it was a job that had to be done. If he ever did find a way to return, he suspected that Lloyd and the others would have left the realm of the living long ago. That thought was something he looked forward to even less. Seeing Lloyd briefly before he had been summoned off to another part of Atlas had been a small comfort - at least the boy was doing well.]
Beings such as angels possess wings and live for many ages, do they not? I would not concern myself about Yuan.

[Jay blinked.] Angels?
(So Yuan and Kratos are angels? I'd better not pry any more on that...)
[He blinked again at the possibility of another force drawing people from other worlds.]
So this other force could be drawing...villains...from other worlds? I hadn't thought of that. I'd...I'd like to try talking to Goede again. In retrospect, I wonder if it was a mistake for me to attack him? I noticed he reaction...he seemed angry that we attacked him. He may have been out of control, but that's what the black mist does. It takes the negative emotions you're already feeling and magnifies them tenfold. It torments people, leading them to violent and irrational behavior. Given my previous experience with the black mist, I believe I can try reaching out to Goede. I can try to obtain more information from him.
Re: Kratos is not amused.solemnity_cruxAugust 23 2009, 02:44:08 UTC
Hmm...
[And Kratos was not about to reveal anymore either.]
It's a possibility, not a known fact. I doubt that you have done Goede any great physical harm.
The black mist...
I would be interested in hearing more about this. However, it would probably be best to report what we have seen to Yuan and the other guild members before further analyzing the situation. They may be able to contribute something that we do not as of yet know.
Re: Kratos is not amused.iknowjjAugust 23 2009, 12:01:58 UTC
Yes...this black mist is very similar to what I've experienced in my world. I'd be willing to explain it more at the guild meeting. But before we do have the meeting, I believe it'd be best to wait for Jade Curtiss to return from his investigation. I'm certain he'll have something useful to report as well.
[Jay shot one last glance at the World Tree.]
Well, I suppose we should be heading back to town now. I need to start writing up my report for the guild. I'll leave it in Yuan's office when I finish.
[Then Jay turned and started down the game trail towards Blessenwood, expecting Kratos to follow.]
{Affection Results}
{Goede: -1} (He's dangerous to the World Tree. I can't say for certain if he actually intended to destroy the World Tree, but he's too unstable and out of control to be trusted.)
{Kratos: +1} (He's similar to Yuan, but different somehow. At least he doesn't seem to have an explosive temper...)
Re: Kratos is not amused.solemnity_cruxAugust 26 2009, 19:56:32 UTC
[The mercenary nodded vaguely.] Most likely.
[Kratos frowned for a moment, then began to follow in the direction in which Jay was headed. This black mist... the negativity... it was something that certainly required looking into.]
{Goede: -1} (I do not approve of the situation I have just witnessed. At the least it is cause for worry, at the most... that man may prove to dangerous to allow to roam free.)
{A little note}clawedshadowAugust 28 2009, 12:53:21 UTC
{Goede will not be doing affection levels for this thread because at this point he's too messed up in the head to think of affection. Kratos and Jay will still be mentioned in his journal's affection entry.... once I get it up, that is.}

He's gone... I'm a little worried. Once we leave, he can easily warp back here and destroy the tree.
So Yuan just...left? Where did he go?
