[Anise jumps in place. Just how does the Colonel do that? It's like he's reading her mind...]

Colonel!

[She listens to his multiple jabs at Asch, then tries to take a stab at him instead, 'try' being the operative word.] Colonel, most people don't think like you do. I mean, gathering that whole crowd in Daath so Ion and I could escape...?

... I forgive you, Colonel. ♥

{OOC: She's referencing this when she's talking about the crowd.}

{OOC: Hahah. I remember that. 8D}

It worries me, actually, that we were able to escape with so many eyes on Daath...but it is for that reason I did not worry about whether or not we could leave Daath unnoticed.

I am glad we are able to get along so well. <3

Tch. I thought glasses were supposed to help people see...

Anyway, you caused a riot. People were a little busy trying to calm the people to notice you.

Anyway, the God-Generals haven't bothered the Fon Master in a while...so stop bugging me about it!

(Why am I the suspect? I'm not the traitor working for Mohs!)

Very well. I cannot trust an enemy so easily, but I would like to assume that we share the same goals for the time being. I suppose I can stop some of my banter if it will allow us to better cooperate.

[He then decided to pay closer attention to his guest. Taking a seat, he rested an arm on the counter.]

So, Anise, are there anything else you would like to know about your situation or about Atlas in general?

I was kind of curious about joining Ad Libitum. I mean, it's not like I can just go back to the Order right now. And really, it doesn't sound like Ad Libitum is all that different from the Order. (Score-reading aside, that is...)

And if I did join, I'd probably hear about new arrivals, right?

Yes. If you complete a trial for membership, you will be able to contact new arrivals more easily. Ad Libitum recruits those summoned by Martel. I take it you would like to hear about the Fon Master, should he arrive. Or perhaps an aristocrat lost and vulnerable in this alien world?

(I have yet to see his name in Yuan's book...yet I would think that Martel might take to his Daathic fonic artes, unfortunately. I admit, such a power might prove to be useful, but at the cost of Fon Master Ion's well being.)

(Somehow, I don't think that's just a written test...)

[She cut her pancakes as Jade continued to poke fun at her.]

Or I just want to see if anyone dangerous comes through. Y'know, 'know thy enemy.'

Well, that too. But...unfortunately, there is no enemy to know of...for the time being. I would assume that if Martel summoned us, it was due to a valid threat.

[He pushed up his glasses, thus masking his eyes. Somehow, despite his previous statement's ominous connotations, he managed to behave as if all was right in the world. Not even impending doom could shake his composure.]

So, then, might I assume you are interested in joining Ad Libitum?

(Really, how can he just say things like that? He doesn't look the least bit worried.)

[She thought a moment before answering his question.]

... I think so. It's our only hope of getting back right now, isn't it?

[He let out a short gasp, as if appalled by her comment.] Anise, how could you want to leave such a quaint little town full of pleasant people.

[His facade dissolved within seconds, and his usual smile returned.]

Most likely. Shall I assign you a quest and an Ad Libitum member to accompany you?

[She plays along with his act, though she lacks his sense of subtlety.] I know. It's so peaceful here. I've got to be crazy to want to go home.

[She smiled in return.] That'd be nice, Colonel. Thanks.

Affection +1

(Even though we're both so far from home, he hasn't changed a bit. It's nice to have someone familiar around.)

Indeed. It is a relief to finally find a place in which we may all coexist so well.

[Jade's facial expression showed no apparent signs of change.] Very well. Please inform me of any preferences, and I shall make my decision accordingly. Or, if you would prefer, I will send you your task and leave you to choose your observer.

[Affection: +1]

(It would seem I now have a familiar partner in crime. I will see to it that she becomes an Ad Libitum member very soon.)

As long as it's not Asch, I'm ready for anything!

I don't like you either. arisenfromashes June 8 2009, 20:58:26 UTC
[Incidentally, Asch was about to check on Anise and Jade, just in case he needed to take away plates, memorize more orders, or leave a bill. He frowned at her comment, then looked away, clearly aggravated.]

Good. I don't babysit anyway.

No, you're too busy luring drunkards into this inn with sex appeal, from what I've heard. I never thought you'd be able to attract customers with your attitude, but it would seem you have other redeeming characteristics.

[He prodded his glasses up the bridge of his nose, causing them to mask his eyes. His smile only lingered on his lips as he feigned the serious leader, but his jabs indicated that he was enjoying this all too much.]

In any case, since you two get along so well together, I really ought to assign Asch to be your partner during your test, Anise.
