Why: Shirley's just arrived and is very confused

Shirley couldn't remember seeing a tree like this on the Legacy before. Furthermore, she couldn't imagine how someone could have whisked her away from Musette's place in the middle of the night. So why was she here?
"Senel?" she called out, standing beneath the base of the tree. "Senel? Anyone? Is anyone there?"
After calling out several times and failing to receive a reply, Shirley had to admit that she was apparently alone. But maybe, if she could make it to a town, she'd at least be able to figure out what was going on. Traveling without her friends in this unfamiliar place was a bit of an intimidating prospect, but she could do this, she was certain.
With this thought, she set out down the nearby path.
