It looked peaceful so far. )
... Hmmph. How annoying...
[Yggdrasill said this snidely. However irritating it was to defend a bunch of wretched humans, he had a persona to keep. Besides... it's what Martel asked of him, to protect and assist the humans of Atlas. As much as it pained him to oblige... he couldn't deny his sister.
Yggdrasill's staple, purple Seraph wings erupted from his back, as the blonde-haired angel hovered above the ground, his spectral wings fluttering slightly. These serpents were massive, obviously born and twisted from the negativity... and they might be a bit too much for him, at this number. He never doubted his own abilities, but he certainly wasn't suicidal, either. The seraph crossed his arms, gathering his own strength from his Cruxis Crystal. It was time to put these oversized snakes down.]

Lightning! [These serpents howl, but it doesn't seem like it did much more damage than usual. Still! It enabled some people to escape safely, and that's the important part. Genis curses under his breath before he turns to Yggdrasil. Nodding in acknowledgement, the "genius mage" grips his kendama tightly.]
Thought you could use a helping hand.

Ironic that we are fighting on the same side, isn't it?
[The seraph said this sarcastically, but it was clear that it was meant as a jest and not as being condescending.]
I shall flank them.
[Yggdrasill teleported once more, this time hovering behind two serpents in shallow waters. His wings flashed purple again, holding his finger out in his staple spell-casting form.]
Hammer of Thor, lightning of Zeus... Thunder Arrow!
[A large triangle of lightning formed around the two serpents, with large bolts raining down upon their heads from above. The spell appeared to do moderate damage, singeing their scales and burning the flesh underneath. It did not appear to slow them down, however.]
Impossible... [Yggdrasill said quietly. Keep in mind, this is coming from the most magically-powerful of the Four Seraphim, who is used to destroying pretty much everything with one shot.]

Were these things stronger than he realized? Closing his eyes, Genis swung his kendama and started casting again.]
Wanna charge? Thunder Blade! [The spell wasn't quite as strong as Genis would have liked, but the combination of both Mithos's spells and Genis's spells seemed to slow them down just a bit... if only for a little while.]

Genis, their scales are like armor. We need to pierce their scales, to damage the soft tissue beneath them. Focus on impact and piercing spells for now.
[Unfortunately, they were marine creatures. Were they on land, this would be much easier. Luckily for Yggdrasill, both of his forms had access to spells that could do the job, without resorting to earth-element attacks.
Yggdrasill teleported again, this time reappearing to a one-o'clock position from Genis, a good twenty yards away from the creatures, charging another spell.]
Holy Lance! [The spears impaled the creatures from all sides, creating small cracks in the outermost layers of their scales. Several of them appeared to be knocked loose. Unfortunately, neither of Yggdrasill's forms had access to anything that could dead a crushing impact; most of his spells were energy-based. His only spell that could do this, Grave, was practically useless at this depth of water.]

I call upon thee in the land of the dead... to unleash thy fury of thunder... Indignation!
[The bolt of lightning - while powerful enough on its own - was able to penetrate one of the serpents' skin. They howled as they fell back into the water; and Genis couldn't help wincing as the water splashed around it wildly. Who knew they were that big?]
... Huh. That seems to work.

With one of the two serpents he and Genis were fighting dead, Yggdrasill turned his attention towards the other. His wings flashed purple again as he began charging another spell... this one of the most powerful spells available to this form, to take it down as quickly as possible.]
The blade of light upon the souls of the sinful... Prism Sword! [A kaleidoscope-like glyph appeared around the base of the serpent, and a large, glowing sword made of pure light energy fell upon serpent, impaling through the head all the way through its body. The inside of the serpent began glowing, and soon, it was vaporized by the intense heat generated by the prism sword. The second serpent fell to the ground, a shriveled husk caked with ash. Yggdrasill teleported next to Genis following their victory.]
What could be responsible for these creatures? [He asked, surprised that he had to put forth more than only a small amount of effort to destroy something for once.]

Genis instinctively flinched as he heard Yggdrasil's voice. Even if he'd witnessed a lot of teleporting in his life, he still wasn't quite used to it happening regularly.] I have no idea. Whoever sent them out must be pretty powerful.

I maintain this form in Wuldorwurth. The nobles have a tendency to take adults more seriously than children. Here... I'll change back.
[Yggdrasill stretched his arms out, and in a flash of light, was back in his childlike - and more powerful - form, which Genis would likely be more comfortable around.]
There. Come on - let's help the others out.

Hurry! Save yourself! Run as far as you can!
[Everything turned out to be fine, but when Kanonno looked back at the shore, there's still a little girl sat there without moving. Oh gosh, who left the girl behind?! Kanonno rushed to the girl to picked her up, and she's about to get away from there.]
Let's go! It's dangerou---
[Another sea serpent appeared right in front of them. Kanonno stared blankly as she held tight on the girl. One move, it would hurt them anytime soon. She had to cast a magic spell now, but her legs were shaking.]

[Mithos heard a voice he had not heard before, and as he turned away from Genis, he say a pink-haired girl trying to save a human child from another serpent. He mentally kicked himself for this - his hatred for humans was not something that would die quickly - but Martel's voice still lingered in his head. Protect humans, and by proxy, protect her... well, here goes nothing.
Mithos' multi-colored seraph wings erupted from his back once more, and he took off towards the two. As he flew, he formed an orb of light in one of his hands, and hurled it towards the serpent's head, if only to distract it. The hit was a dead success - the orb of light hit the serpent in the left eye, burning the retinas and rendering it completely and totally blind in that eye. When the creature would stop howling in pain, Mithos would already be charging another spell.]

You are... Mithos.
[She was still terrified to move, and so the girl. She clinched to Kanonno's arm without making any noise. Her tears rolled on her face, if only she needs her mother on her side by now.]

JUDGMENT! [Mithos roared, and massive beams of light rained down from above on the serpent, as well as a few other serpents. The beams seared through the scales, burning into the flesh beneath, as well as severely weakening the integrity of the remaining scales along the top halves of their bodies. The serpent that had already been hit by the orb of light fell to the water, dead.]
Heh. Sis would be proud... [He said this quietly, and turned his attention to Kannono and the girl. He hovered a few feet above the sand, and crossed his arms.] Either get that girl out of here, or help me! [He said this rather angrily, the heat of the battle getting to his head.]
Reply
Ah! Uh... Y-you're right!
[She stood on her legs and ran back to search the girl's parents. Luckily, it wasn't hard to find them. Once the girl had reunited with them, Kanonno made her choice to head back to Mithos or stay behind. As a member of Ad Libitum, there's no such thing as working alone. Kanonno still kept remembering the phase and headed back to him. She knew Mithos was strong, but he still needed her.]
Mithos! Let me join forces with you!
[She unsheathed the broadsword and faced her fear to the remaining sea serpents.]

Fine. [It's not like he needed help, though. These things were child's play to him. He hovered higher, his wings fluttering slightly, as he turned to face the oncoming serpent horde. He reached a hand out, and fired off another spell at a few of the approaching serpents.]
Ray! [He called out, and an orb of light appeared above two of the serpents, which burst into several beams of light rapidly firing on their heads, before a lager beam of light fired directly downwards and exploded.]
