[Inn] -> BLESSENWOOD

Mar 07, 2009 23:53

This is like the guild post. You can visit the inn at any time to rest (and thus heal), or otherwise. It's open to everybody at any time.

Blessenwood's innkeeper seems to be a fan of cheagles. As such, the creatures seem to have inspired the inn's furniture and decorating.

Frustrated... iknowjj April 15 2009, 04:31:32 UTC
[Jay walked into the inn and sat down at one of the tables. He had decided to do some training in the field, and had requested Jade Curtiss to accompany him. Now he just needed to wait for Jade's response. Jay was extremely frustrated at this point, perhaps for the first time in his life. Here he was, all alone in a completely unknown world. He had no network to gather information with, nor did he have any idea why he was called here. No sense of direction at all.

Jay had gained so much in the recent months on the Legacy. A circle of friends, and a family, something he had wished for throughout his brutal and torturous childhood. And now, having been summoned to this world alone, he was at risk of losing it all so soon. He didn't want to be alone again. All of this weighed heavily on his heart. And his recent unpleasant encounter with Yuan Kafei didn't help either.

As for the immediate situation, Jay was hungry again, but he was still flat broke. He reached into his pocket, pulling out a single piece of candy...the piece of candy that Arche had given him when they first met. This single piece of candy was all Jay had to eat at the moment.

Jay opened the piece of candy, slowly putting it into his mouth. He sat still for a moment, tasting the mint as it slowly began to melt in his mouth. At the same time, he could feel the tears beginning to form in his eyes. There was no point in fighting it...so Jay slowly leaned forward on the table, hiding his face in his arms. He took slow, deep breaths, trying not to tremble as he allowed the tears to flow freely from his eyes...]

Jay? Are you alright? *worry, worry* flying_terror April 15 2009, 20:24:54 UTC
[Arche enters the Inn stretching, extremely pleased with the work she did with the others yesterday.]

Food here I come!~

[Just as she was about to pass Jay's table she noticed he had his head in his arms trembling slightly like he was crying. Arche laid a hand on his arm, worried.]

Jay? What's wrong?

[Jay wiped his tears on his sleeves before sitting up.]

Oh...it's you... I'm just so...lost...confused...and scared...

[Arche rubs his back in hopes of comforting him like a mother to her child.]

Remember what I say about about coming to big sis Arche if you have problems or questions? They still applied to things not related to Ad Libitum too!

[Arche and Jay were interrupted by a loud grumble courtesy of their stomachs.]

Hahaha. Guess we're hungry... Did you order yet?

[At Jay's silence and expression Arche guess that's mostly likely one of his problems.]

O Well whether you did or not I still owe for trying to set Jade's foot on fire even if it did fail. ^^ So this meal's on me!

[Arche waves a waitress over and orders for both of them before turning back to Jay.]

So what's got you so scared, lost and confused?

[Jay looked down at his growling stomach.]

Yeah...that, too. I still don't have any money to buy food with...

[Jay paused, trying to think of the words to express his problems.]

I spent my entire childhood alone...and I just found some friends in the recent months back in my world. Plus we had just saved the world from the Guide to Nothingness. So I thought I would have a happy life ahead of me.

And then I was summoned to this world alone, and completely unprepared. Normally, I'm very skilled at gathering information, but I know nothing about this world, so I don't even know where to find information. I don't know the first thing about Martel, the World Tree, or mana...

I understand that this world is in danger, but I don't know what to do about it. And if this world dies, I'll be stuck here...I'll never see my friends again. I don't want to lose them so soon. What am I supposed to do....?

[Jay buried his face in his arms, sobbing again.]

Don't worry everything will work out in the end! flying_terror April 15 2009, 21:27:34 UTC
[Arche suddenly has an idea.]

I know why don't you stay with me for bit! I don't mind sharing :D Mind you I sleep on rooftops... But it's worth it since the stars in the sky is so comforting.

[Arche listened to Jay's problems while trying to find the right thing to say...]

I know what you mean... None of us were prepared to be summoned here either nor did we have any info about this world in the beginning and someone were summoned here alone too... but we have others who were here first to help us!

[Arche grins remembering Lloyd.]

Besides You're not alone anymore! You have me and Ad Libitum to support you! :D

Don't think about the bad things, it'll only hold you down, Just do your best and focus on getting back home... I'm sure they're waiting for your safe return...

-Images of Cless, Mint, and Claus flashes through her mind...-

Who knows Lloyd did mention that others might summoned here too. Maybe friends are already or will be here sooner or later. Plus you can rest easy since your world is safe from danger...

[Arche's grins fades bit remember Dhaos and hopes her friends are alright.]

(I'll be back to help you guys as soon as I can, stay safe till then...)

[Jay forces a laugh at Arche's offer.]

I suppose it couldn't hurt. It'd be better than sleeping under the World Tree, and having Yuan get angry with me again.

This doesn't mean I've given up though. I just...needed to let out some of this frustration. If there's a way to get back home, I'm going to find it. Do you...do you know anything about Martel, the World Tree, or this mana thing?

Bah! Yuan's always angry... I beginning to wonder if he has high blood pressure...

*Cheers*

That's the spirit! I'll help out as much as I can '_~

[Arches paused thinking.]

A little, from what I heard from Genis, the silver hair boy in blue. Apparently their world and mines have many similarities.

[Arche decides to leave out the fact that Yuan, Genis, and herself are all half elves and tries to explain it what mana is to Jay.]

Mana is... an energy that we use to power our spells and Artes. Genis said it used to be the source of all life in his (our?) world before a summon spirit called Ratatosk changed it so it will die out in a thousand years... except it didn't happen it my world... Our guess was that we from an alternate reality and time of the same world since there are so many similarities.

Martel... is the spirit that guards the Mana tree which produces a large amount of mana in our world... I've never met her though... I've only heard about her from Claus, friend of mine in my world.

I'm afraid I don't know much about the World Tree... The one who knows most about it would be Yuan and he's not sharing much about it and Jade will most likely tell you to ask Yuan.

[Arche grumbles about secretive old mans.]

If you want to know even more about mana and Martel I suggest you ask Genis since he has more in depth information about them then I.

[Arche brighten up considerably when the waitress returned with their order.]

Food is served!~ ♥

Let's continue talking after this okay? *grinning* We won't be able to come up with anything on an empty stomach!

If Yuan has high blood pressure, it's probably because he's always angry...

[As the food arrived, Jay began to eat eagerly himself, pondering about the information during the meal.]

(So mana is basically the same as eres? That makes it a little easier to understand... And Yuan said that Martel could appear if she had more mana available to her. I wonder if there was some way to collect mana and transfer it to her. I'd hate to even suggest the idea to Yuan at this point...)

Ah...yes...that was satisfying. Well, that's one problem solved.

So, from what you're saying, mana almost sounds like the eres in my world. And from what Yuan told me, Martel might appear if she had more mana available to her. Do you know where mana comes from? Or is there a way to collect it?

Re: Teacher Arche here!~ flying_terror April 17 2009, 11:11:46 UTC
In my world, the mana comes from Yggdrasil, the mana tree, but the there doesn't seem to be here...

I remembered Martel getting better was due to Tear and the blonde knight's healing spells, so I guess the energy we draw in to use for our spells and techs would be one way of collecting it.

{Ignore this part if I'm wrong since I'm not sure if this part is even possible aside from healers.}

I don't think we can do much of it though since both our attacks are all offensive and might end up hurting Martel instead of helping her.

{continuing reading here whether you ignored the top or not.}

Mana is also similar to fonons, the energy I felt from Asch though it does feel a bit off like yours...

Maybe I can feel the difference there because we're from different worlds but in reality it's really the same?

Jade might know more about it... that is if you can get him to share that information instead having him recommending you to ask another person.

Somehow I doubt that healing spells are the same thing as providing mana. If it were, Martel would have appeared already. Yuan did mention that something might be disrupting the flow of mana in this world. If we can find out what it is and stop it...

[Jay stopped himself, letting out an exasperated sigh.]

But once again, we have no leads...

[Arche slumped]

Looks like it...

[At Jay's mention of Yuan's speculation and the fact that they have no leads, Arche decides offers her own speculations even it may or may not work.]

Actually we might have one if that's true... Usually when something big happens the source always end up being in a place where people deemed haunted or places that changed... At least it did in my world. Maybe we should the others about any odd sightings or rumors before bring this up to Yuan?

Re: Teacher Arche here!~ iknowjj April 17 2009, 22:37:12 UTC
Well, I suppose we could ask the townspeople about that, as I doubt the new arrivals would know of any drastic changes or hauntings in this world...

[Jay paused for a moment.]

By the way...I'm still aiming to join Ad Libitum. What sort of work do they do, exactly?
