Who: All Ad Libitum Members (and gatecrashers?) What: A guild meeting When: Midday after all events currently going Where: Blessenwood Guild Office Why: It's time to get organized! Status: Open
[Jay paused to think about his response. This was indeed a delicate subject for him to discuss, and he needed to get to the truth of the matter without implying that he was actually trying to defend Goede.]
It is possible. But that goes for anyone, to be honest. Anyone can do significant damage if they succumb to the negativity...especially us, given our special abilities. So Goede is as much of a victim of the negativity as anyone...perhaps even more so. Therefore...
[Another pause. Jay was predicting a negative response to what he was about to say, and even he himself didn't really care for it. His doubt was causing the negativity to stir within him, which was once again causing his chest to ache. He tried his utmost to ignore it, as he did not want to attract attention by clutching his chest.]
(Stay calm...I can't let it get to me...)
[However, a slight flicker of pain could only be seen by the most observant people, and his voice quivered slightly as he spoke again.]
Therefore, I don't believe it would be wise to treat Goede as an enemy. The negativity itself is the true enemy here.
He never actually hurt Martel. He was scared, angry, and confused when we first met him. We managed to calm him down before he disappeared. He may be unstable, but he does know better than to attack the World Tree.
[After all, Goede did apologize for it. Jay would have mentioned that if only he was sure they would believe him. On the other hand, Jay also wondered if Mithos was any more stable, but at this point, it was a little too early to jump to that conclusion.]
He did not on that occasion, but the possibility exists all the same.
The Negativity may be the source of the problem, but that does not mean that Goede is any less a threat, victim or not.
He is a considerable opponent... he is strong, and he is unstable. Therefore I am inclined to believe he is dangerous, as he will continue to be until we can determine a means to reverse or nullify the effects of the Negativity.
[Jay gave Kratos a worried look as the pain continued to pound in his chest. He did not like where this was heading at all.]
It's true that Goede is dangerous, but…if he shows up again, what do you intend to do? Fighting him won't accomplish anything, except cause him to get even more unstable and out of control. And then he will cause considerable damage. And the fact that he's so powerful is all the more reason we shouldn't fight him.
