Our House

Jon and I finally got to close on our house this morning. I was excited beyond belief when we were getting ready to close last week, and then after that disappointment I found it hard to get that pumped up about it again. Don't get me wrong, I am very very happy. We finally got to meet the people that were selling the house and they were so nice. They were not at all like what I expected, but very nice. The man told us all about the neighbors and the dog that lives next door and about the deer that are always in the backyard. I can't wait to move stuff in. Bonnie, our realtor, was sick this morning and couldn't make it but she sent a gift with the sub. Jon and I left the closing and went to the house and when we got there, there was mail waiting in the box with our name on it. Nothing important, but that fact that it was being delivered to us at our house was such a good feeling. Bonnie had put a reef on the front door as kind of a welcome home thing (although those neon gerber daisies were hideous) it was really nice. She also had this nice glass candle thing on the dining room table. I forgot to mention that we negotiated for the brand new table and chairs and the leather couch. Anyway we got to sit down on our couch and open our mail and our gift in our house. It was a really nice corningware backing dish. It was no nice of her.

We may not be able to actually move stuff in for a couple weeks. Jon and I have plans this saturday already which involve wedding stuff so we can't cancel. I guess we could move things in on Sunday. The only thing is I'm so ready to go there right now! But I promised I'd wait for him and I know I would want him to wait too.

Marilyn took Sarah (my old boss) and I out to lunch today to celebrate. How thoughtful. We actually had a good time and it was relaxing. We talked about real people stuff and not just work. It was really nice. It was comfortable to be around Sarah and it turns out the Marilyn and I have even more in common than I thought. Apparently we also share a love for sushi.

This weekend, I forgot to talk about this before, we got flowers and decorations for the reception. They were beautiful and just what I had in mind. Macy and I went shopping yesterday for wedding shoes and something to wear under my dress. We started at David's Bridal because there these shoes named "Macy" that I wanted. They were so freaking cute but horribly uncomfortable. I tried on all of their other shoes and hated them, not to mention they were expensive and not cute. We went to this place in the mall and I found the ones. They didn't catch my eye at first but they were really cute on, super comfortable, and on sale. The tri-fecta of footware. We went to victoria's secret too but they didn't have what I was looking for, so the search continues.
I also book the DJ, caterer, and dress alteration lady this week. And I finally gave up my ring long enough to get it resized. I have this crazy ring tan line on my hand.
