I'm pretty pleased with myself for getting this job. For those who don't rememeber (either that or I haven't been keeping tags in my journal) I've been trying to get a job for awhile. I wanted to get out of the chicken shop and into a more professional world because for some reason I have this idea in my mind that you're supposed to go to school then uni and then get a job which requires you to wear a suit 9-5 every Mon-Fri. And although I didn't attend uni (if I would i'm not sure what course I could take since I don't really care for a majority of them although something in the web industry would be nice the people there usually care more about qualifications than degrees and that industry is going down hill in job opportunities).
So now on with the job description.
For starters it's a inbound call centre job that deals with taking orders and answering queries (no telesales for me please) so it should be a fairly easy job to do. Also my typing speed was at 61 words per minute so I'm pretty pleased about that (one girl was at thirteen words.. ouch).
Anyways the place that I went to for an interview asked me if I wanted to work as a receptionist for a day. I would have said "yes" but I had no proper clothes or transport (definatly a bad combination). I think I could be a good receptionist. I have a pleasant nature when I have to and it's pretty basic work. I was pretty happy that they even considered me though.
In light of the new job I did what any girl would do. I went and bought some clothes. Some nice new work clothes since I don't really have any. I went for the casual business look since most of the people at the group interview seemed to be wearing the same thing.
*sighs* This job is a temporary roll which will start in September and end in February. I think that's a good thing and although I'm expecting to be offered a permenant position I will turn it down. Working for them isn't the sort of thing I want to do and by February i'll be able to say that I have 6 months expirence working in a call centre which, at the end of the day is what I really want. If I escape with a good reference I'll glow for a week!
