Thoughts

It was my dad's birthday today so we went out for dinner. It's become a bit of a tradition though.

My brother's acessment of dinner was that it sucked. In his words, "the manager was taking the order and recommending dishes which was expensive and too salty, the crab had no meat which was why he asked us if we wanted noodles with it (so that it would be harder to notice), the chicken was small, the staff were in-expirenced, the prices were ridiculously high ($159 in total and $109 for a crab dish), there wasn't many dishes to choose (103 different things could be served which wasn't much considering that that included entrees and dessert) from and on a Friday night there were too few people (there were about five tables being used)." His other thoughts included the belief that he thought the place was closing down soon and that the manager seemed a bit desperate (based on the fact that the manager when taking the order recommended a dish and said that if we didn't like it we could get something else for free).

My dad and mom thought similar. My dad saying it was "the worst meal he had ever had".

My thoughts were the atomsphere was nice, a bit quieter than usual but we usually eat dinner alot earlier than most families (Hong Kongs like to eat late) and it was a Chinese resturant.

I felt kinda sorry for him. I mean the manager (who I think was also the owner) seemed like a nice man. Although he reminded me a bit of my own boss, Raymond and Helen who when they bought the business loss quite a few customers when trying to adjust to the new place.

On a completly different note. The difference between me and my mom.

Mom: You see over to your right is where Bing Lee (shop) is.
Me: And over to the right is where Castle Hill tavern is. It's a place for the younger people to drink.
