But I waited since 7:30 am for the new Harry Potter book. The store opened at 8 and they were allowed to sell them at 9 onwards. Anyways I got a cool bag and poster for being the third to get the book

Also live in Australia (: I just thought maybe you'd gone to Angus & Robertson in the city because they opened their doors at 8.00am as well.
A lot of other stores probably did as well...just thought it was a chance we were there at the same time! Not that I know what you look like or anything hee hee.
I was tempted to go to the city for it but that would have meant waking up at four in the morning (it's about an two hour travelling trip for me since I would have to take a bus and train) but decided against it and wait since 7:30 for the book at someplace a bit more closer to home. If you know Sydney then you'll understand what i'm saying when I say "I live in between Penrith and Parramatta".
Ah yes a bit of a trek! I was at a party in Engadine and drove into the city so I could camp out to wait for the store to open. I was just so excited I couldn't stay away. I received a parking fine for my efforts however.
I waited for eight hours...just a tad obsessive (: And I already had it preordered - I just wanted to make sure I was first in line.
I don't think I'll do that next time, I am still so tired from lack of sleep.
