"You Can't Beat White People, You Can Only Knock Them Out."
Chris Rock
Although I was rooting for Mr. McCain, despite the fact of colossal and frankly stupid mistake of running with Mrs. Palin, I only can say that this will definitely be a new era in American politics; try to rejoice in the immense significance of these election results - in a country which, less than a half century ago, had legalized racial discrimination and which is currently at war with two Muslim nations, electing an African American man with a Muslim name means something has changed, some critical mass of tolerance has been reached. For everyone who voted for Obama, congratulations on my behalf. However, I must say - you have voted for a gamble, and gambles can turn out to be great deals or turn out to be disastrous. Hopefully, Mr. Obama will become more moderate in his policies. I also hope that the election of a negro president doesn't blind us to the fact that there is a lot of racism in our country, it has to still worked on, but maybe now black America will look to Mr. Obama as a role model to rediscover its unique culture, regain responsibility in its actions, and stop blaming slavery and white people for many of its problems.
