Happy holidays, right? I'm not so sure. Don't get me wrong, my Christmases with all divisions of my family were great. No arguements, no nothing. Yet something seems 'off.' I miss the monotony of my non-holiday schedule. I manage to be tenser sitting around waiting to go to work than I am when I'm swamped with schoolwork and sleep deprived.
Maybe it's the heavy reading I have been doing. I'm currently plowing through
Shake Hands with the Devil by Roméo Dallaire, head of the UN assistance mission to Rwanda during the genocide. I have a feeling that this one is going to change my life when I am finally finished. I just can't believe the UN just looked away while hundreds of thousands of Rwandans were being killed. 'The system' is fucked up. Uh, read this book.
I really have nothing else to say, except that I haven't been sleeping well lately. Still, I'm trying to stay away from the coffee. Happy New Year, LJers.
