Character Background
Kiri Koshiba is the product of a famous hairstylist and an equally famous makeup artist. When she was younger, she dreamed of following in her father's footsteps and becoming a beautician, even entering a contest once and taking first place. She was always smiling and saying how amazing her dad was. However, when cutting her mother's hair one day, Kiri accidentally cut her mother's ear. Even though her mother came out of it fine, Kiri was devastated and horrified for what she'd done. After that, for months, she wouldn't pick up a pair of scissors. She eventually got over her phobia thanks to her childhood friend, and cut her hair short into a shaggy bob. She also seemed to have given up her dream.
Despite this, Kiri kept helping people, but always in disguise, and never giving her name. She got a reputation (uncredited though it was) for making over girls who felt ugly or were teased, or just needed a little courage. She finally was named 'X' by one of the girls, and it stuck. She gained two friends, Kanako and Ken, from the experience, but a few years later, she would leave them.
A week before her 15th birthday, her father decided to move the family salon to Tokyo, and the closest school in the area was the Lillian Catholic School for Girls. Kiri had no qualms about going to such an institution, and soon enrolled.
