My mom came to Charleston today. I talked to her when she had hit the NC/SC border. A couple hours later, on my way to work I called to see how close she was. She answered the phone sobbing. she said there was a big crash and she was holding one of the kids, a 6 year old girl who was the least injured of the 8 people in the car I later found out, and she would call me back. She said the little girl didn't know what was going on. She told my mom about how they were on their way to GA for a vacation but now they weren't going to go anymore. she didn't know that one of her sisters was dead and laying on the other side of the car. Her dad and some of the other sisters were unconscious and laying all over the road. my mom said there was bodies and blood everywhere. The mom was up walking around, but in shock too much to really know what was going on. Apparently none of them were wearing seat belts because some had literally been thrown feet from the car. What a horrible reality check. I feel bad, but I was just thankful my mom hadn't been in it. PLEASE everybody be careful and wear your seatbelts. I don't most of the time wear mine but I'm going to try to remember from now on. I hope I never have to witness anything like this happening because I don't think I'm stable enough to handle it.
