Alright. Yesterday was the fourth. People made a big deal out of fireworks and eating cheeseburgers. I chuckled with the rest of you. Yeah, America - let's blow something up.
And then I got to thinking. Was anyone being sincere about celebrating the USA? Is it all just a big, fucking joke to you people?
It shouldn't be, you know. Before you start attacking me for being a stick in the mud, I get that people just like an excuse to have a good time. I'm one of those people too. I like to drink and play ball and eat cheeseburgers. But fucking remember that there's nothing wrong with being proud of your country. Some people loved it enough to go off and die for it. It still means something to us them.
