Shan - CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT!!
I know we just talked for a good 3 hours tonight, but that's still crazy exciting. The first of the 5 of us to get married! Oh if only our childhood selves could see you now :o) So thrilled for you baby. And no question, I will be at your Hawaiian wedding. Like I'd need ANY more incentive to go there, please!
In other news, did anyone else choke on the stagnant humidity when they left their apartment buildings today? I love NY but damn, what I wouldn't have given to be in the Blue Ridge Mountains again right about now. The beach was nice. Spent more time in the water out of need rather than for it's splashy goodness. Another near 100 degree day again tomorrow. Fan. Tastic.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure I have an apartment in Richmond already. One more thing to cross of the list.
"Xanadu" yesterday proved to be pretty damn funny. I have to admit, it had some great lines, and it was just fun. I think it worked because it didn't even remotely try to take itself seriously. It's a musical based off a campy movie, and they pretty much treated it like they treated the "Evil Dead" musical. Which surprised me that it's on Broadway, because this show seems like it would really thrive off-broadway with a strong cult following. But it's only in previews so we'll see. The audience adored it to pieces with wild laughter and applause. Who is the demographic for such a show, you ask? Well as the line goes: "It's like children's theatre for 40-something gay people." Truly, it is. Oh, and I appreciate any show that uses "Andrew Lloyd Webber" as a negative adjective.
