My mom has Congestive Heart Failure. It’s all been rather sudden and we’re trying to deal with it, but she was perfectly fine 2 weeks ago and now all of a sudden, she probably needs a heart transplant. It’s been hard and it’s just me and my dad here, so he’s needed my help a lot. I’ve been going to the hospital every single day and staying there with her until she falls asleep, so I haven’t even been getting home until 2 or 3 AM each day and then I’ve just been focusing on getting all of my work done because I feel so behind!
It might be getting better soon though because my mom had heart surgery last night to put in a Defibrillator. She still needs a valve replacement and eventually a transplant, but she has a huge blood clot in her heart and anything else they do now could accidentally dislodge the clot. If they dislodge the clot, it would cause an immediate stroke and, because of her condition, most certain death. So, the Defibrillator should work to keep her alive for a couple weeks. They put her on more medicines to work on thinning her blood and stopping the clotting and, if it works, the clot should be dissolved within a couple weeks or so they hope. So, right now, the plan is to send her home on Monday with the Defibrillator for the next few weeks and watch the clot. Once it’s dissolved, they’ll bring her back in to do the other surgeries. So, while she’s at home for a couple of weeks, my life should calm down until they take her back to the hospital.

So there it is, why I haven't posted in so long.
