Hello, new here!
I've been acting since I was old enough to do so and generally do fine in auditions, however I've run into a bit of a confusion spell recently. I have quite a bit of acting experience, but it's mostly Shakespeare and plays like Proof, ect, however recently I've been getting more into musical theatre and am going to be auditioning for Chicago soon. Anyway, thus leading me to a small dilemma. I've just re-started voice lessons and am trying to get back into the swing of dancing, I have a small ballet background - but I do not seem to know how to choose a good audition piece to sing. I love the musical and would love to be a part of it, so I'm trying to find a song that would be appropriate for the musical.
Any help would be endlessly appreciated!!
My range is first soprano-alto.
My dad suggested some current music, like My Same by Adele or Vegas by Sara Bareilles, or something by Billie Holiday, ect.
I also was considering Summertime from Porgy and Bess...
But I'm just not sure exactly what to do. : /
I'm trying to get used to musical auditions!!! XD Any pointers would be great too. ^__^
Thank you!
